Keys® Launches in ChatGPT, Turning "I'm Locked Out" Into a Locksmith Request

Summary

Keys Inc. announced that Keys Locksmith is now available in ChatGPT. Built using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the integration connects customers' requests for help with Keys' locksmith service platform, giving customers a new way to request service and participating professionals a new way to reach them. Keys presented it live to locksmiths at the 46th Annual Yankee Security Convention, held October 20–24, 2026, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.

A customer can start with a simple request such as "Keys, I'm locked out of my car." The conversation helps establish the service needed, gather the details and request quotes; customers can give vehicle details or a VIN and review key images to identify the key type. Keys checks coverage and sends the request to eligible nearby participating locksmiths. Customers review the returned pricing, included work and estimated arrival information, then choose a locksmith and authorize payment on a secure Keys page. On jobs using Keys' current authorization flow, the approved amount is held before dispatch and collected after the locksmith completes the service and submits proof. Customers can also approve or decline additional work, check status, access tracking, message their locksmith and request cancellation through supported workflows.

For locksmiths, requests arrive in Keys with the service type, location, vehicle information and key details needed to prepare a quote. Participating providers review job details, submit quotes, and manage the job, communication and payment through Keys.

Service availability depends on location, requested service and participating provider availability.
